MAX 232 - WHAT IS THIS?

This post deals about max 232 IC, from maxim integrated products.

This particular IC deals with the conversion of RS 232 signals to compatible TTL signals. Nowadays,       RS 232 signals are not in much use due to the strong presence of USB(universal serial bus).the MAX 232 is a dual driver/receiver and converts the rx(receiver),tx(transmitter),cts(clear to send) and rts(request to send)signals.

The MAX 232 receives a TTL level to convert it ,it changes a TTL logic 0 to +3 V to +15V , and changes TTL logic 1 to between -3V to -15V and the vice-versa.
