After repairing my disk on startup and many restarts, windows 8 metro app start behaving like alien apps
but the little back pain is you have to do this for every app which is not working
no one was accessible and when i clicked on any app it says cant open , needs to repair , problem is quite minor here is quick steps to fix them
- click on broken app
- click on "Fix this app in app store"
- click on install
- wait few minutes ( 5 -6 maximum)
- and click on start
- you will see problem is solved

I had the same problem, but I only had to repair one and the rest started working again.
